- Do you have Ruff Love? (that is the human-animal bond).
- Do you receive Welcome Kisses? 57% of pet owners say that pets are more likely than their significant others to greet them this way!!
- Do you Celebrate your pets birthday? 24% of pet owners do!
- Results of a Poll conducted with older people - Question: What type of a pet do you own?
The percentages were highest for Dogs, then Cats, Birds, Reptile, with Other (wonder what that covers! - ranging between Cats and Birds). People age 50 to 64 – a little over 1/3 of the people questioned did not have a pet. People age 65 – plus – over half did not have a pet.
That is so sad as they are missing out on companionship, love, sharing, and so much more!
- What was the major reason for acquiring a pet? Companionship took the big chunk of the percentage!! Some had pets for security and protection too.

- Is there anyone (child, elderly, handicapped, ??) that you know need a boost in self-esteem / confidence? Give them the responsibility of taking care of a pet; furry, feathered, or scaly! Helping to feed, walk, and take care of a pet will reward them with a job well done and it will be fun as well. End result will be developing discipline and sense of responsibility.
- Are you concerned about asthma, allergies, and obesity for your child? Research has shown that children are less likely to have these conditions if raised with dogs or cats. In fact, they believe it also builds their immune function.
- Want your child to be more caring and empathetic? Children receive unconditional love from their pets, thus they will be a more caring, empathetic person. As a result of their skills acquired from their relationship with their fur friend, they will draw friends to them with their kindness.
- There is a testing of old Rottweilers, of at least13 years old. This is equivalent of 100 in human years. The goal is to find out if OLD dogs can teach us new tricks about aging and cancer. We will be watching for the results of this research!
- Is your dog sick? Is your dog having immune system problems from distemper? Then your fur kid needs a switch to a raw food diet. You need to prepare pampered pet's meals from raw meat and bones, raw vegetables and raw fruits. Give your fur kids, your domestic dog, what their ancestors (coyotes and wolves) ate in the wild. No grains (which commercial dog foods contain large amounts of), no additives, for your pampered one. Grind it for Gizmo, but don’t cook it!!
