Calm Me Down Calming Collars (Patent Pending) help with separation anxiety, thunderphobia (fear of thunderstorms) and other bad weather, fireworks or other loud noises, and in most stressful situations like a trip to the groomer or to the vet. They have also been effective in controlling excessive barking and have helped relax hyper-active dogs and puppies.
This was the first blend of herbs we developed. They were mixed to help the wearer overcome stress and anxiety and just be a bit more relaxed. They can be effective all day long. You can clip one on your pet when you leave the house in the morning, and not worry if it will be still working late in the afternoon - long after any medicine would have worn off. Or your dog or cat can just wear one for a few hours to reduce anxiety, during a storm or for a stress free vet visit. Cut down on your cat and dog anxiety!
The standard width is about 2 inches wide and has a center seam to help distribute the herbs and help the fabric lay flat against the neck. If you'd prefer, we can do the smaller sizes with a single seam or the larger ones with 4 channels. The plastic clasp allows you to adjust the fabric length for a custom fit. Shipping weight is 4 ounces.

Calming Collars are based on aromatherapy. All of these Pet Calming Collars are safe and use quality herbs and ingredients. Even if digested, they won’t harm you nor your pet.

There are 3 types of Calming Collars (see our other listings for all 3) :
- Calm Me Down. These collars help your fur kid, dog or cat, to relax. This style helps with separation anxiety, fear of thunderstorms and other bad weather, fireworks or other loud noises, and stressful events such as a trip to the vet or groomer.
- Good To Go. These collars help your pampered pet with anti-motion sickness when traveling in a car or any moving vehicle.
- Too Cool. These collars help your dog or cat to stay cool, when the collar is soaked briefly in water. The polymer crystals inside turn into a gel and expand.
Our supplier uses 100% Cotton fabrics. There are many to choose from. Their most popular ones are listed in the drop down box for you to choose from. However, if you want a solid color, you will need to advise your color choice by Contact Us .
We ship primarily through the USPS. Once your purchase is produced and prepared for shipping, you will receive an email with mailing information.
How do these Calming Collars work?
They use aromatherapy. The scent of the combination of different herbs we use has been tested for effectiveness on both dogs and cats. We use only dried herbs -- no essential oils or other fillers.
How do I know what size to order?
We go by a neck measurement. You can either measure your pet's neck or a collar that fits them comfortably. If in between sizes, it is best to order the bigger size. That will allow for more herbs to be used in the collar. You can always tell us the exact neck size in the special instructions box -- and we will tailor for a near perfect fit!
How do I know what width to order?
Most do fine with the regular 2 channel.
What if my dog eats his collar?
Although not recommended, the herbs are not harmful if ingested. Neither are the crystals in the Too Cool Cooling Collar.
How long will the herbs last?
That depends on how much they are exposed to the air and dry out. In most cases, if worn 24/7, the herbs will last 3 to 4 months. If only used for a few hours a day or less, you may get closer to a year or so Just keep in a plastic bag in a dark place when not in use -- like your kitchen herbs. Regular customers that just use them for storms seem to buy a new one each season. You can roll a collar in your hands and crush the herbs to help refresh them and release more of their natural oils.
Will a Calming Collar work for my pet?
Odds are it will help. We have a better than 95% success rate. But they won’t help every animal with every situation
Can my dog or cat wear a Calm Me Down collar 24/7?
Yes, many of our customers do just that. You should just have a more mellow version of your dog or cat.
Will these really work on cats, too?
Yes, they will. The challenge is getting a cat that is not used to a collar to wear something around his or her neck! If your cat is okay with it, they will be a more mellow kitty.
